A Month of Music, Memories, and Celebration

October was an inspiring and activity-filled month at Brookhaven Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center! From honoring our incredible Food Services team and supporting a cause close to our hearts, to welcoming fall with laughter, music, and community spirit, this month reminded us how teamwork, compassion, and connection make Brookhaven truly special.

MEANINGFUL ACTIVITIES

Food Services Week Feast

We kicked off October by celebrating Food Services Week with a delicious feast prepared by our amazing dietary team! The theme was simple but heartfelt “Teamwork makes the dream work.” Our food services staff go above and beyond each day to prepare nutritious, flavorful meals that bring comfort and joy to our residents. Their dedication nourishes both body and soul, and this celebration was our way of saying thank you!

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

Brookhaven proudly participated in the American Cancer Society’s 28th Annual Making Strides of Newark on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Mulberry Commons. This non-competitive, 3-mile community walk brought together survivors, supporters, families, and friends in honor of those affected by breast cancer.
Our staff joined thousands of participants for a day filled with music, recognition, and unity, showing that every step taken is a step toward hope, healing, and awareness.

Brookhaven’s 1st Annual Fall Festival

A highlight of the month was our very first Fall Festival! Residents, staff, and local vendors came together for a day of fun, creativity, and community spirit.
From festive displays and handmade crafts to games, treats, and performances, the day was full of smiles and laughter. It was the perfect way to celebrate the season, and our talented residents and team members who made it all possible!

Halloween Costume Party

We ended October on a spooky and spirited note with our Halloween Costume Party! Residents and staff dressed up in creative costumes, danced to their favorite tunes, and enjoyed sweet treats together. The event brought endless laughter and joy, a true celebration of the fun and togetherness that define life at Brookhaven.
